Punctured after the first ride, but the ride was great!!

I received this as part of a warranty issue involving the previous version which was apparently made by Boardwork and not Badfish. The newer version has more rocker, is a foot longer, a few inches thicker and a whole lot heavier. I have only taken it out once but it was a blast! Definitely some performance improvement over the previous one but the weight difference really struck me. I usually have to carry the board a half mile or so down before putting in and the extra weight made it much more difficult. It is extremely heavy duty with double-walled sides, so I was really surprised when it leaked out all of its air after the first ride. After pumping it back up I found a small scratch in the double-walled section that is steadily leaking air. The scratch is on the side too, not even on the bottom. All this after one ride in a section of the Potomac I have paddled dozens of times before with no issue. I spoke with customer service ( who has been awesome BTW) and they advised me to patch it with the patch kit. I’m disappointed that my brand new, expensive board will now be sporting a patch on the most heavy-duty section of it. It’s my third inflatable and I’ve never had to patch any of them. I still think it is an extremely well made and well designed board and this is an isolated incident. Maybe I just hit a freakishly sharp rock while paddling, who knows? So overall it’s a great board but between the extra weight and the patch, I’d rather have the old Boardworks version back.

This board is fantastic, it punches through the whitewater and feels as rigid as a hard board with the double stringer setup. I love the removable tri-fins so you can adjust it to your liking. I have the discontinued MVP and it feels very similar, however I know the inflatables durability will make this my go to board with Arkansas' rain dependent waterways.

    Buy one!

Bought a new rivershred to replace one of my other "whitewater paddleboards". Total game changer, this board charges through rapids like no other. The stability and control instantly changed the way I approach rapids and what I consider runnable. Had a slight problem with my order and badfish went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my order and that i received my product in time for the weekend. Can't recommend this board and the company enough.

    No regrets

I had a discount with another SUP maker that distracted me from buying a Badfish board sooner. That was a mistake. I've waited to write this until I had at least ten rides on my Rivershred. I'm now convinced that the right board, made by a company that is focused on SUP, can make you a better paddler. It's not just the board itself, It's the community and service that this company has provided. Everything they do shows their commitment to this sport. And you will see it too, whether you are a casual paddler or a guide.
