    Surf's Up!

The surf's up everyday with the IRS. After one season I can definitely say this board is fun! It has handled everything from low to medium high flows on my lunch break wave with ease. The Yampa through Steamboat Springs never got cranking last season so I can't speak as to how it fairs when it's raging. I even took it down river a few times which turns up the spice factor when it's mellow and lets you catch all those fun little waves you always paddle by and say to your self "Self- I should surf that little guy". A great board that will cater to multiple user types: young, old, beginner and the seasoned crusty river dog.

    Best Entry Level Board

This is the best entry level river surfer on the market and the price point cements it. Good resale value when the time comes to upgrade. Can't be beat.

    Sweet ride

I recently got one and finally got out on one of our local wave to test it out. There is a bit of a curve to get going, I am 6' 215lbs and 4 decades of white water experience. I am pushing the weight limit on this one IMHO. That said it gives great rides. The tons of rocker keep you from diving even on very steep waves. The pictures on the webbey page do not adequately show the rocker. The nimble and fast feel to turns will put a smile on your face. The modified egg shape is really that good. A smaller adult/young person might even use this as a sporty river runner. The board is very stiff and my buddy remarked that when I got on it the board did not deflect that he could tell. The double and variable stringers in both the deck and hull are in unison with the side wall reinforcements to make it so. So much that I noticed it seemed harder to roll up than other boards. That said there are a couple of items I would like to see improved. Some bungee stowage on the bow would be good. I also would like to see welded seams rather than ripply/bubbly glued construction. The break down paddle that comes with the package has wiggle in the lower shaft when assembled. The big one is the lack of replaceable fins. In the river environments I paddle being able to use a longer or SHORTER fin is a big thing. Many waves we have here are shallow and even a 4.5" fin can be too long. A quad or 5 click fin base set up would be so much better. Looking at you BF. I also wonder how a 6" version would be for us bigger folks? Release edge?? These items are in no way going to get in the way of fun to be had on this craft. In fact this board which I like to call the wave warrior, a much better name, will bring the stoke for river surfing. Git u sum.

    Wife of the year!

If you want points towards wife or mom of the year, buy your loved one an IRS, but be prepared to lose them to the river every morning, noon and night, because they'll be out there surfing their hearts out! Badfish staff were incredibly helpful in finding the right board for my SO, and the IRS will help any beginning surfer hone their skills. We 100% recommend Badfish and the IRS.
