I love this board! It has the speed for slower, flatter waves like the right side of Glenwood and Staircase wave in Buena Vista. It carves well and is very responsive; particularly when I can get my back foot against the stomp pad. I have a good quiver of boards, but this is the one I reach for most often, as it surfs a wide range of waves while still delivering high performance.
Must have in my quiver
I love my Shuvit but it's too small to catch slower or flatter waves. The larger boards are less playful. Adding the Snapper has opened up a special place in my quiver. Light, "snappy", stable, playful and catches so many waves. Stoked I bought this.
Yes it IS as good as it sounds!
Lots of volume but still 5'10. Wide but still handles super well. I put some short fins on it once I got used to it and it handles like a race car. The full deck pad is nice to keep the wax off the lifejacket. The finish is fantastic. Mine got slightly damaged in shipping but apart from that I'm loving the Snapper experience!
Playful, Predictable and Rippin'
I was able to borrow a Snapper when they first landed here in Salida and it felt right instantly. It surfs like a surfboard with a familiarity to way it carves and pumps that’s playful and predictable like an ocean board. That's what I’ve found lacking in hardboards from other companies — they feel strange and clumsy. I finally got my own mid-season and it was my go to on all but the smallest days. There’s a enough volume here to float me (175lbs) on smallish waves and when it scales up even a little it’s just rippin’ good fun. Can’t wait till next season!
A must for the quiver!
I never go to a wave without this board. It is a high-performance board that will surf waves of all different shapes and sizes.
