Making miles, living simply, falling asleep to the sound of water-—the Selfie 14 brings the magic of self-support paddling to everyone. Inspired by sea kayaking trips in Baja, Badfish co-founder Zack Hughes began shaping, testing and refining self-support SUP boards in 2014—a process that culminated in the Selfie 14. Its stable, smooth-gliding shape makes light work of even the longest days, while painstakingly tested D-Ring placements ensure balanced loads that won’t sacrifice performance.

No river permit needed
After an overnighter on the Selfie 14 I was impressed with the way it handled the extra weight of the gear. The extra length and bungees made loading and unloading gear quick and effortless, and the extra d-rings are a great feature if you want to secure gear down a little extra for those river excursions. The Selfie 14 is a great all around board for the weekend lake crew who are just learning and the multi day crew looking for a new way to experience the river. The coolest feature for me was the ability for the pump hose to stay in the air valve while hand pumping, no more asking a second person to hold the hose, which truly makes this a self-sufficient water craft.
Absolute Gear Hauler!
This board has been a beast when it comes to hauling gear out on overnight trips. I can easily lash a couple of drybags by using the d-rings. And it's a rocket compared to my other boards. This SUP tracks straight with little effort and is quite stable. It's also pretty easy to handle outside of the water since it's surprisingly light for it's long size. Like all Badfish boards, the material is durable and the board is very well constructed. When not in use, it's easy to roll up and store in the carry bag. I have used this for island hopping on Lake George in the Adirondacks and it easily supported all of the gear (and my 6 y/o) that we needed for a couple days out. I think this would be solid for cruising around a bay or exploring shorelines too. This board checks a lot of boxes: stable, fast and able to carry a lot of gear. Would highly recommend!
Go to for Multi-days!
I love the Selfie from my local fun race to a 10day self supported SUP trip. I has performed well on Lake, Ocean and River Expeditions even pushing into some Class 3 waters at times and it maintained its stability! This is a great board for anyone who wants to spend days on the water and haul everything they need to be comfortable!
But first let me take a Selfie!
In 2021 I paddled this board over 900 km, specifically 663 Km straight. This was such a great board for my river adventures of long multi day expedition paddling! The glide was unparalleled, gear storage was phenomenal and I’m so thankful for the many miles this board has carried me and the memories attached to it Check out my River Of Hope Paddle to raise awareness for mental health while paddling the Selfie!! https://youtu.be/5i7HT-njIVE
The board uses our Exo-Skeleton stiffening system which includes double stringers top and bottom and the extra wide PBR railband.
The board does not have a double air chamber. Please feel free to email us at customerservice@badfishsup.com with any other questions. Thanks!
