I tested a friends Rivershred out a few times, and to tell you the truth, it was hard to give it back to Kenny. There is no comparison to the other SUP's I have paddled. A group of us Oldtimers are tearing up our local waterways. It's amazing to see the new things we can do on our three Badfish Rivershreds. After a couple of test runs, I ordered TWO ! One for me, and another for Chris. The staff has been very supportive, answering all our question. I highly recommend dealing with Noah and Mike, they have been spot on, and very helpful. Now, as for the sup itself, well, it just blew me away ! At first glance, you might think this is a Park-n-Play board. Wrong ! It's much, much more than that ! The rocker is continuous from front to the stern, the extra width makes you think it's a slug in the water.....just the opposite ! It is FAST ! Attainments, eddy hopping, and down river speed on the flats is surprisingly fast ! We've had them out on a few runs, and the material appears so much tougher, and we have tough, porous rocks that won't let you slide off. This was such a hit with us, I sold my Hala Rado, which is a good SUP, but compared to the Rivershred, it's like the difference between night and day. If you get a chance to demo one, you will quickly understand what I am saying ! This has raised my confidence and makes me want to keep learning new tricks. Buy one....or two....you will be grinning ear to ear.
Fantastic Stability, effortless surfing, still very snappy handling for its size easy to carry while I continue to rehab from a serious back injury, and even room for a granddaughter! Super tough construction and excellent accessories! Great job Team! Much Love, The Linns
This board really helped me take my whitewater paddling to the next level. I feel super comfortable running class III now, knowing that I can easily catch eddies.
I've owned 7 SUPs from various companies. Some were hard boards and some were inflatables. This is my 3rd Badfish SUP and (by far) the most stable SUP platform that I've paddled! I recently purchased another high end inflatable SUP and the difference between the 2 is remarkable! Granted, the other one is geared towards "all around' use, so they are made for different purposes. The crew at Badfish listened to my needs and recommended the Monarch. I almost bought it and (at the last minute) I decided I needed something different in my fleet. The Rivershred did NOT disappoint! I was a little concerned about the short & fat design being a pig to paddle on calm water, but this thing rocks in any environment. Even paddling upstream against the current, it easily tracks straight. Surfing and rough water is where it really shows its stuff! The Rivershred is a river surfing machine. I've also paddled it down a few wave trains and that's where the stability shines through. I've only had it on the water twice in the short time I've had it, but it is going to be my "go to" board for just about anything the local rivers can throw my way!
these guys are awesome... they made sure it got to me in time for a birthday celebration and my husband loves it!
