This is an amazing all around board that far exceeds being just a fishing SUP board. I’m 6’4” 198lbs and my dog Ava is 28lbs, so we’re still well below the 300lb Max weight. The board is very rigid, incredibly stable and tracks very well. The deck is super comfortable to stand on, but more importantly very kind to the knees, which being an ex football player that really matters to me. The quality is top notch from materials to design. There’s lots of options for rigging and well as built in plates to attach extra gear like rod holders, cup holders, camera mounts etc. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to a lot of adventures this coming season.
The Badfisher is amazing! It is portable and light enough to carry alone. It is highly maneuverable in wind and current. I have used it so far on the French Broad river and in the Bogue sound in NC, but I am confident that it would perform well in the ocean and I am planning on taking it to Colorado in a few weeks to paddle some rivers there. My daughter and I can both easily get on it with a dry bag and cooler, and there are plenty of metal loops to hook carabiners to as well as a nice bungee system up front. The only disadvantage for me, personally, is that I am 5’ 3”, so when I carry it sideways with the grab loop, I cannot walk completely upright. However, I have found that I can carry it fairly easily overhead with the center grab loop or by holding each side in low or no wind. For a long hike with it, I would definitely have to use the backpack, but otherwise is it is very easy to get in and out of the water and truck. It also takes me some time to reach the recommended psi with the pump. But, if I don’t try to do it all at once, it is very doable. Also, I was on the water with it in less than a week from the time that I ordered it. Overall, I am extremely happy with this board and look forward to lots of fun trips with it! Thanks Badfish!
I'm very satisfied with the quality of the product, the accessories, and the price....... but what has blown me away is how this board has changed how, when, and where I fish. The ability to backpack an extremely light weight fishing craft has enabled me to reach new water and fishing locations that I would have never had the opportunity to fish before. It's been perfect for High mountain lakes, hiking in to deep holes in rivers with no float-able approach, impoundments with no boat ramp or dock, shallow or wade access back waters, and even the occasional golf course lake (don't judge me, some of those hold huge Large Mouth). While in the mountains, I regularly fish water that boarders between wade-able stream and float-able river where a traditional heavy hulled boat or fishing kayak is far outside of it's element, in these scenarios the Badfisher is the perfect wade assist tool! I regularly tether the board behind me by the rigging on the nose and move on and off the board effortlessly as needed. I can easily pull or carry the board over shoals and obstacles that would be very frustrating or impossible to cross if you were dragging (and damaging) a kayak or other vessel. Additionally, when traveling I never have to concern myself with car topping a fishing kayak or pulling a trailer, which results in taking my board with me on more trips and equals more fishing days. Every body of water holds new potential now and every fishing trip has a new element of exploration and adventure.
